Dear neighbors,

Thanks to all of you who have been involved in our long-term project to make South Shore Beach cleaner, safer, and better for everyone.

Milwaukee County Parks and I have some very exciting news to share on upcoming beach improvements. I invite you to attend apublic information meeting December 2 from 5:30-7 pm at South Shore Pavilion. Markyour calendar and invite your friends and neighbors who want to get involved in improving our district’s greatest asset.

When: Monday, December 2 5:30-7 pm

Where: South Shore Park Pavilion–2900 S. Shore Dr.

You can RSVP or share the Facebook event here. This public meeting will feature design concepts, construction, and funding updates–and your input. I am eager to share County plans and to hear your ideas as we work together to improve this incredible resource.

at Annodyne Coffee, 2920 S. Kinnickinnic Avenue in Bay View.

Please join us to appreciate a great year of activities at South Shore Park. We will also look forward with plans and new ideas for 2020.

The holidays are busy for many of us, so this will be our last regular meeting of 2019.

Joint Friends Meeting

Hello friends,

The friends groups from Grant, Humboldt,Mill Pond, Pulaski (Cudahy), Sheridan, South Shore and Wilson Parks are hosting the 3rd Annual Joint Parks Friends Discussion at South Shore Park Pavilion on Thursday, September 21 at 6:30 pm.

This meeting is convened to give information and generate discussions about the value of our parks and how to promote these values to Milwaukee area citizens and elected officials.

The evening will start with presentations by each friends group on activities in their respective park followed by reports from Supervisor Jason Haas, Chair of the Parks, Energy and Environment Committee; and John Dargle, Parks Director. Finally, a citizens panel of known park advocates will discuss; Public Parks: Venue for Recreation and Entertainment or Green Space for Conservation and Preservation. Meeting attendees will be given an opportunity to ask questions of the panel.

The meeting will adjourn to the South Shore Terrace beer garden to socialize and continue informal discussion.

We hope you can attend for a stimulating evening of information and contemplation.​

April Meeting – Earth Day Volunteers Needed Hi Friends, Our next meeting is Tuesday, April 11th, 7pm at South Shore Park Pavilion. We are hosting our 21st annual earth day education event on April 25. The event features environmental presentations and activities for over 400 local elementary school students. Volunteers are needed to help during the day of the event. Please join us at our next meeting or contact us if you would like to help. Thank you!
